1. If you have a paper jam in the top feeder of your machine, you will see the following machine.

2. Open the top cover and if there is paper, remove the paper.

3. If you cannot remove the paper from the top feeder, you can also lift the lid and access the jam from underneath.

4. You can press the "P" on the top left hand side of the document feeder (as seen in the image) to give you better access to the paper jam.
