What you need

  • Windows 11 system with Microsoft Teams installed
  • Microsoft Teams account and sign-in access
  • A working audio device (headset, mic, speaker)

Procedure

Step 1: Open Microsoft Teams

  1. Click on the Windows button on your desktop and search for Microsoft Teams.
  2. Open the application and sign in if prompted.

Step 2: Access Settings

  1. In Teams, click on the three dots  icon (top-right corner).
  2. Click Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Open Devices Settings

1. In the left-hand sidebar of the Settings window, select Devices.

  1. You’ll see three main sections:

- Audio 

- Video 

- Devices

Step 4: Adjust Audio Devices

  1. Under Audio > Audio settings, choose from the dropdown:

- Pick your headset/speaker/mic bundle

  • Speaker: your output (e.g., headphones or speakers)
  • Microphone: your input device

Step 5: Test Audio

  1. Use the Make a test call button under the Audio section.
  2. Teams will play back your recorded message to verify your mic and speaker settings are working correctly.

Post-Configuration Checklist:

  • Join a test meeting or call.
  • Confirm that you can hear and be heard clearly.
  • Adjust volume or change device if needed.

Notes & Cautions:

  • Wired devices are generally more reliable than Bluetooth.
  • Ensure no other app (e.g., Zoom, Discord) is actively using the microphone.
